When you are about to get married, your attention usually goes to the dress, the bouquet and the shoes, but what about lingerie? When you are preparing for such a special occasion, you must definitely not forget to include intimate apparel for both, the ceremony and the wedding night because it is indispensable to wear super comfortable and functional clothing.

The design of the lingerie will directly depend on the style of wedding dress. For instance, if you will be wearing a dress made of silk or satin fabrics, you should better avoid lace or thigh lingerie that may be noticeable or can leave marks.

Even if there is no magic wand to make you look perfect, there are some types of underwear that help shape your body to look much better and sexier. For example, girdles, padded or push-up bras, are ideal for corset of strapless wedding dresses.

The underwear you choose for that special day will also vary upon the details of the dress such as trim or fabric, but also on how you want to look that day. It is not the same using a padded or push up bra than using a regular bra.

Fantasy

The functional and comfortable stay behind to let lingerie for the wedding night take place. In this scenario, you want to look for more sensual underwear that provoke and become part of the seduction and mystery ritual that happens on the wedding night.

Fantasy lingerie is perfect if you want to be extra ordinary. It may include lace, garters, belts and applications. Look for garments that are non-traditional, that you would not wear every day.

The color palette for both outfits is kind of limited to white, ivory, pink or lavender; however, if you are bolder, you may include other tones such as red or hot pink, especially for the wedding night.

The most important when choosing lingerie is to consider how it makes you feel when wearing it. You must feel sexy, elegant, confident but above all, comfortable.

10 Instrumental Songs for Walking Down the Aisle

The wedding entrance where the ceremony is held at, is undoubtedly the most anticipated moment of a wedding and it definitely creates a romantic atmosphere while fills the guests expectation; therefore, it is important to take your time and carefully choose the perfect song for that moment when all eyes will be on you.

Choosing the wedding ceremony music may simple; yet, it is not. Our recommendation is not to wait until the last moment to decide for a song or you might end up regretting your choice. Without a doubt, walking down the aisle is a tremendously special and emotional moment, which is why it is so important to identify what music you want to be played. We have created a list of 10 instrumental songs that are perfect for that unique moment:

  • The first proposal is the classic Felix Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” in C major. It may be too classic for some people. However, it may be dreamy—and a must—for some other.
  • We continue with another classic: Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major. It is a very suitable melody for the wedding entrance due to its romantic and delicate nature. It is very used in religious weddings.
  • A very emotional song is “The Moment” by saxophonist Kenny G. It makes of any wedding ceremony a magic and passionate event.
  • A song that really gives Goosebumps from start to end is the instrumental version of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.
  • “May it be” by Enya in its instrumental variety is another song that will perfectly suit your entrance. It is much more emotional when played with flute.
  • A song that works perfectly to walk down the aisle is “The Rose” by Amanda McBroom but in its instrumental version. There is a great one played by violinist Andre Rieu.

Soundtracks are a great choice for wedding ceremonies. Usually they are instrumental and appropriate for the entrance since they are emotional and inspiring. Here are our favorite ones:

  • “The Main Title” of The Cider House Rules is a sweet, slow paced and romantic song.
  • “The Ludlows” of Legends of the Fall. Who didn’t fall in love with the movie and that song?
  •  A very emotional song is “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” of the Lion King Movie. Especially when performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London.
  • Finally, a romantic, emotional and inspiring song is “Married Life” from Up.

What do you think? Which one do you like the most?

Top 5 Girls you Must Not Invite to Choose your Wedding Dress

Are you ready to perfect wedding dress? Choosing the ideal wedding dress is one of the most important tasks of a bride; therefore, everything related to it has to be flawless so she finds in the mood to buy it. So, no matter if you love them or are dear friends, there are five people who you should leave out when you buy your wedding dress.

Intense Smarty

There is always that girl interested in fashion who thinks she is an expert in image design. If you don’t want to suffer by someone telling you that you look fat, too thin, flat boobs, pear body or that white doesn’t really suit you well. Please don’t you ever take her to buy your wedding dress!  You will definitely not feel comfortable with her comments and she can even make you feel insecure about the dress you might want to get home.

The Single Mother who Hates Weddings

This is a definite no! When you choose the perfect wedding dress, you must be a little selfish. That means that all eyes should be on you and all comments must help you decide which dress is perfect for your body type. If you invite a friend who hates marriage, weddings and everything relate, will most likely end up sucking up your energy.

The Girl who is Getting Married and Wants Attention

It is to be nasty or have a bad attitude, but it is common that this girls discuss everything related to your wedding in a way that attracts the attention to their wedding and them. It may happen that when you are trying your dress, she will be talking about heirs and how prettier or expensive it will be. You want to feel like a princess that day, regardless of what type of dress you are buying, so keep her away.

The Very Judgmental Girl

Yes, there will always be that rude person who says exactly she has in mind. Although frankness may be appreciated in some scenarios, choosing your wedding dress is not one of those. You want to be surrounded by people with the right attitude because you will most likely be super sensitive due to all the nerves and emotions. If you want to be with positive and supportive people, do not invite her.

The Married and Depressed

This is a big DON’T. If you have a married friend who is really depressed, never invite her. It is feasible that she will keep talking about her wedding and how sad she is because it was not as good as she expected and so on. If you don’t want to start with the wrong foot, leave her out of your special choosing day.

The day you go to choose your wedding dress, make sure you invite people with a great attitude and who you feel comfortable with. Those who understand your emotions and feelings in making such an important decision. Just go with those who get you and enjoy!

Must-Haves of an Artistic Wedding Photography Style

The artistic wedding photography style is that which displays the photographer’s point of view and his or her own creative vision. It is art and far from portraying all scenes as realistic and close-ups of the bride and groom, it presents a much more fine type of art in which the wedding is depicted as a fairy tale. Artistic photographers play with light, color, angles, framing and the scenery to make of each shot a work of art.

DIY: Prepare your Face and Makeup for a Perfect Look at your Wedding

Getting ready for the wedding does not only involve choosing the perfect dress and a gorgeous hairstyle. Makeup is fundamental for a perfect look and more importantly, preparing your face days before the Day. If you want to do your own make up and preparation, we have prepared a list of steps and tricks you may follow to make an impact with your perfect face.

Preparation

It is essential to start getting your face ready ahead of time. At least a week before your wedding, exfoliate it and keep it moisturized; as a result, your skin will look fresh and with less fine lines. Make sure you use special eye contour gels or lotions. However, if you do not have these, you may use chamomile tea bags instead. On the rest of the face, use Aloe Vera for at least eight nights before the big day.

Note: It is super important to take into account that if you will need to remove any facial hair, do it at least a week before. You definitely don’t want a red face, swelling or any bubbles in your beautiful bride’s skin.

The day of the wedding, ensure to close your pores so your face is completely ready to get makeup on. You may use some ice cubes or cold water to close them.

The Makeup

Follow this steps and you will get a perfect DIY wedding makeup:

  • If you want your makeup to last for at least 12 hours, first apply a makeup primer. A primer is a cream that not only improves the effect of your makeup, but also makes it last longer. You just need to put a bit of the product in your fingertip and spread it through your whole face.
  • You have the option to apply a corrector or concealer—or both—if you need to cover any face’s imperfection or balance your skin’s color. A corrector is applied to reduce the redness or yellowness of your skin. To know which color you need, stick to these guidelines:

a)      Use green to correct redness or any red area in your face.

b)      Choose pink for purple under eye circles if you have a reddish skin tone.

c)       To hide brownish blemishes, use peach.

d)      If you have olive or tan skin and purple or blueish under eye circles, use yellow.

The concealer is used to hide any blemish or dark circles and it always goes in top of the corrector.

  • Apply your foundation (prefer HD foundations to make your face look more natural.) If you are not sure which color to choose, try applying a bit in your forehead and waiting for it to dry and check how it merges into your skin.
  • Apply the pressed powder using a brush. Don’t use translucent powder or it won’t last. Be careful when spreading it; you want to avoid lighter spots.
  • Use a waterproof liquid eye liner to make sure it stays all day, no matter how many times you cry!
  • Remember to put on eye brow make up to define your face.
  • You might want to use a long-wear lipstick; however, it is better to go for a regular lipstick and retouch it through the day.

It is vital to try your make up several times before your wedding: trial and error will lead you to perfection. The day of the wedding, bring your make up kit with you to take care of any unexpected imperfection. The most important, enjoy and feel beautiful and confident. You will shine!

Guys: How to Deal with a Bridezilla

When you proposed, she was so happy and full of love and excitement…then she started planning the wedding. The girl who once was sweet and calm, suddenly became grumpy and obsessed about all her wedding details. There is a name for that my friend: A bridezilla! Unless you want to end up leaving her at the altar, stick to the below pieces of advice.

Calm a Bridezille

 Help her with the Planning

If you want to have a really angry bride, don’t show any interest on the wedding. Otherwise, try to get as involved as possible. Take her look at the locations, give your opinion regarding decoration or do some research to choose a theme: she will be delighted. In addition, ensure you make her understand she is not alone at this, you will support her through the whole process. Don’t forget that leaving her alone will make everything worse and you will be the main affected.

Spoil her Every Now and Then

Try to keep your bridezilla as relaxed as possible. How? Well, there are a couple techniques which never fail:

  • Buy her an emergency survival kit.  You will not only fulfill one of her needs, but you will demonstrate how caring and loving you are. This one doesn’t fail.
  • Book a spa session for you two. You will both relax and enjoy a nice moment together. If you want to save money, try to do the massage yourself. We bet she will think it is really romantic and will appreciate it.
  • Pick one day of the week and name it the “weddingless day.” None of you will be allowed to talk about the wedding during that day and in exchange, you will let her choose an activity for that day.

Don’t Allow Tantrums

Yes! you have to support, love, help her and be patient; however, that doesn’t mean you must let her be a bridezilla. As soon as she starts yelling, doing tantrums and disrespecting you: stop her. You don’t have to put up with that. Let her know you will gladly comfort her and listen to her; but, whenever she calms down. Don’t let her turn you into a groomzilla.

Most likely, you will be the one with the feet on the ground. Therefore, make sure you help her stay in the real world. If you remember to show her how much you love her and at the same time draw the respect line, you will definitely pacify your bridezilla.

Top Five Mistakes When Organizing a Wedding

DIYaustria-wedding-03

Planning a wedding is a lifetime adventure: unknown, intriguing, and exciting. While most people prefer to hire a wedding planner, some prefer to organize their own to make sure it goes perfect. If you’re planning to organize your own wedding, keep in mind that you will need to invest a lot of time and effort on it. To make sure your plans go as expected, you better take note of the below mistakes so you don’t make them:

1.    Not Having a Defined Theme

The theme of your wedding will reflect your and your couple’s personality and interests; that’s why you have to define one before you start the whole planning. Not being clear on a wedding theme will lead you to combine different elements or styles, and end up with a characterless and forgettable wedding.

2.    Lacking a Budget Estimate

Planning a wedding when you don’t have a defined budged could be catastrophic. If you’re unsure of how much you can spend, you might end up burning all your savings, or even worse, getting bogged down in debt. Be careful, you don’t want your wedding to become a complete nightmare.

3.    Not Hiring a Good Photographer

A close friend or relative –who likes photography- might ask you to let them take the pictures of your wedding. That sounds like a good way to save money, but don’t forget that once the wedding is over, the only visual memories that will last for many years are the photographs. So carefully choose a professional photographer, even better, an expert wedding one.

4.    Choosing a Place without Knowing the Date

Now, this might sound dumb, but choosing a place for your wedding involves a lot of visiting, thinking, and time. Before choosing your setting, make sure when exactly your wedding is going to take place. Choose a specific time also to know the season and weather you’ll have on your dream day, so you can get ready for every possible scenario.

5.    Not Having an Agenda

Unless your main virtue is being super organized, you must have an established agenda -enough time- ahead of the wedding day; otherwise, you will probably go nuts. Take note of all the information related to your wedding and create a time table to help you organize all your pre-marriage tasks.

Make sure you don’t forget any of the above and we promise your dream day will be smooth sailing. But, above all this, make sure that you really enjoy your wedding day. None of the planning will be worth it if you don’t relax and relish this day like you’ve never enjoyed any other day before. Remember, it will only happen once!
