Finding the Perfect Wedding Jewelry
If you look at the dress in the photo above, it's flowing style works great for the boho, whimsy look that the bride went with. But if she had worn her hair up or neatly curled with a small gem clip, and instead wore a a pearl necklace, the dress would still look gorgeous and a new look would be created. A wedding dress can be seen as a bit of a blank slate. Lace and beads does not require a traditional bridal look (though it also doesn't hurt it). It is instead the wedding jewelry and headpieces (along with her hair) that creates this boho style. There will always be exceptions like how a large poofy ballroom style dress doesn't exactly scream whimsy, but what your wedding look really comes down to is your chosen wedding jewelry and accessories.
Some things to consider when picking out your wedding jewelry:
1)What is your Look? Are you going for complete elegance, light whimsy, or summer causal?
It is a given that as you create your wedding look you will need to make sure each of the pieces work together, but there may be those moments when you find a drop dead gorgeous set of earrings that you feel you just must have, but the large white diamond look just doesn't mesh with the more naturalistic or Boho look of your beaded headband. This is a more exaggerated example, but the point should be clear: beautiful doesn't mean it is perfect for your chosen look. 2) What is your budget? 
As you piece together your look, you will want to decide how much money you are willing to pay for what. Basically, you need to prioritize. There are going to be those have to items that you will not want to compromise on, and then there are going to be those items that you want to be a have to, but are not really necessary. That is the trouble with shopping for wedding jewelry; everything is just so pretty. If you are having trouble deciding between getting the perfect bridal necklace and bracelet, flip a coin. I am being serious. There is this quote, "When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you, but because in that brief moment when the coin is in the air you suddenly know what you are hoping for", and with that, you can separate those musts and the not-so-much-musts. If you are creating a more dramatic look, you will want to prioritize your budget on items that establish that look quickly. Look at the bride pictured above. Which jewelry accessories immediately establish her look? That is probably the best way to prioritize your budget. The biggest bang for your buck! 3) Something old, new, borrowed, blue
Wedding jewelry is a great place to add some sentiment. A lot of brides like to include the old, new, borrowed, and blue wedding traditions and jewelry is an easy avenue of upholding that tradition because it can fit into any of the four categories. So as you select your earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, take a moment to see if you can create the wedding look you want while using items that work within this tradition.
